Pro-Bono Citizenship Initiative

Expanding Access to U.S. Citizenship

Contreras Law Group is proud to offer a Pro-Bono Naturalization Initiative dedicated to helping eligible lawful permanent residents apply for U.S. citizenship at no cost for legal representation.

We believe that citizenship strengthens families, communities, and the country as a whole. This initiative reflects our commitment to ensuring that permanent residents who are ready to take this important step are not prevented from doing so due to financial barriers.

What the Pro-Bono Citizenship Initiative Provides

Through this initiative, Contreras Law Group will:

  • Represent eligible lawful permanent residents in the naturalization process
  • Prepare and file the N-400 Application for Naturalization
  • Provide legal guidance and case strategy
  • Prepare applicants for the citizenship interview
  • Respond to routine USCIS requests related to the application

Our legal services are provided free of charge.

Applicants remain responsible for USCIS filing fees, unless they separately qualify for and receive a fee waiver from the government.

Who This Initiative Is For

This program is intended for lawful permanent residents who:

  • Are eligible to apply for U.S. citizenship
  • Have relatively straightforward naturalization cases
  • Are committed to completing the process and attending required appointments

Because resources are limited, acceptance into the program is based on eligibility, capacity, and case suitability.

Why Citizenship Matters

U.S. citizenship provides lasting benefits, including:

  • Protection from removal
  • The right to vote
  • Access to additional family sponsorship options
  • Greater stability and security

For many permanent residents, naturalization is the final and most meaningful step in their immigration journey.

Our Commitment to the Community

While Contreras Law Group is nationally recognized for its employment-based immigration work, public service and access to justice are core values of our firm.

This initiative reflects our belief that experienced legal representation should not be out of reach for those who have built lives, families, and communities in the United States.

How to Apply

Individuals interested in the Pro Bono Naturalization Initiative must complete an application and eligibility screening. Participation is limited, and not all applicants will be accepted.
